Changes colour when spent — no guesswork on replacement
Blue silica gel carries a moisture-sensitive indicator so the desiccant reports its own condition. Crystals move from dark blue through to light pink; spherical beads move from blue to white. That visual signal is the practical reason most maintenance and export teams specify it — nobody has to weigh a sachet or guess a replacement interval.
