Silica Gel Crystals

Silica gel Crystals are in two types:

• Silica gel White Non-Indicating
• Silica gel Blue Indicating

Silica gel Crystals are in Uneven shape starting from the Biggest Granular size of 9-12 MM to a complete powder form in 1-2MM size, depending upon the application and usage.

All Silica gel Crystals particle sizes at actual against the application and uses.

The Mesh Sizes and the Particle sizes mentioned are for two applications only the remaining mesh sizes from The bigger sizes Mesh from 1-2 Mesh, 3-4 Mesh and 5-8 Mesh are used as silica gel Breathers in transformers and the Remaining 9-16 Mesh and 16-30 Mesh are used as desiccants absorbents.

REASONS:

The reason behind the small particle sizes used as desiccant is that they don’t allow larger space between each other when packed in sachets or pouches, using such small partials avoid the moisture to intersect in between the silica gel crystals and last for a longer period of time as compared to that of larger particles if used as desiccants.
And most importantly they don’t tear the Non-woven bag packing in pouches or sachets as are less pointed as compared to that of larger particles. And can be inserted into smaller packing starting from 1gm for Pharmaceuticals. Still 5-8 Mesh is used as desiccants which could be ideal for both uses.

Size: 1-2 Mesh (9-12 mm)
Size: 3-4 Mesh (6-8 mm)
Size: 5-8 Mesh (4-6 mm)
Size: 9-16 Mesh (2-4 mm)
Size:16-30 Mesh (1-2 mm).

Please note the Silica gel Crystals provided by Asia Packaging are Cobalt Free and DMF free means they are free from Dimethyl fluoride so safer than any other Silica gel in the market even if they come in direct contact with Human Body.
