Why these three
They are the questions that actually change the answer.
Scale decides the material
Silica gel holds 40% of its weight; calcium chloride holds over 200%. A carton and a container are not the same problem scaled up — they need different chemistry.
Target humidity decides the medium
Silica gel is efficient between 30% and 90% RH. Below that its capacity collapses and molecular sieve takes over. A dew-point specification is usually the tell.
Visibility decides the grade
Indicating gel buys information, not performance. It pays for itself on a breather or a warehouse pallet, and is wasted inside a sealed carton nobody will open.
