Calcium chloride hanging pole
Absorpole Desiccant
Vertical calcium chloride poles that hang in the corrugated recess of a container side panel and collect brine in a sealed chamber.
Four to eight poles protect a full 20 ft container

A dosing method for cargo that crosses climate zones — what to use, how much, and where to put it.
The problem
Goods that were dry at the factory arrive stained, rusted or mouldy after five weeks at sea. The cargo did not get wet from outside; the moisture was already in the container and in the goods, and temperature cycling moved it onto the product.
Protect at two levels. Container-level desiccant handles the air volume and the condensation cycle. Pack-level sachets handle the immediate enclosure around the product. Neither replaces the other on a long route.
The method
A repeatable sequence, in the order that matters. Skipping the first step is the usual reason the rest disappoints.
Count the climate zones and the days at sea. A Mumbai–Rotterdam run in monsoon season is a different problem from a coastal hop.
Textiles, leather, timber, coir and agricultural goods carry their own water and will drive condensation regardless of the weather outside.
Four to eight Absorpoles for a 20 ft container, or the equivalent in container bags, scaled to route length and cargo type.
Roughly 5 g of silica gel per cubic foot of enclosed volume — about 170 g per cubic metre — inside the carton or barrier bag.
Put an indicator card in a sample of packs so the next shipment is dosed on evidence rather than guesswork.
