The problem
A pharmaceutical desiccant has to do three things at once: hold the humidity inside the container below the level at which the API degrades, survive an automated insertion head without splitting, and come with the documentation an auditor will ask for.
Match the format to the line. Tyvek pouches for manual or semi-automatic packing, canisters for high-speed insertion, roll form for continuous lines, and integrated caps where a loose sachet is unacceptable.

How much water can enter the container over shelf life before the product moves out of specification?
Headspace volume, closure permeability and shelf life together set the charge weight.
Hand packing, automatic insertion and continuous lines each want a different physical format.
